English Language Arts (ELA)
We will be asking and answering questions when reading non-fiction text. Good readers think about their thinking while reading. When reading with your child at home, you can always stop and ask, "What does this book make you think about?" Students can share a connection they made, ask a question or share how they are feeling about the text.
The pattern this week is the silent e with o and u vowels.
Writing / Language
We will write narratives with words that describe more about what you see and hear. We will also use time order words (first, next, then, finally).
Students will work in groups to create their own communities on posters.
We will come up with different names for numbers, learn how to play name that number and use frames and arrows. Directions for using ST math at home will be sent home Monday. I encourage students to do it at home - this could be an answer to productive screen time. Feel free to let me know if you have difficulties logging in at home.
